Water Project #7

This major project took place in Los Jirones, a rural Nicaraguan community home to 85 homes, 94 families, and approximately 340 people. Prior to the project, none of the homes had running water.

The terrain posed serious challenges—dense with rock and uneven surfaces, it required multiple consultations with hydraulic engineers and several design revisions before implementation was possible.

Despite these obstacles, the team successfully installed a mechanical pump into a well, constructed a water tower, and plumbed water directly into every household in the community.

Los Jirones marked the 7th major water project completed by IAP. In total, over 1,200 homes have been equipped with running water across Nicaragua, positively impacting the lives of more than 5,000 people.
